Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety

Who should attend?

Managers and supervisors in medium and large manufacturing or catering business.

What are the aims of the course?

To equip candidates with both the knowledge and confidence to do their job effectively, particularly in light of the changes in legislation effective from January 2006 which have placed greater onus and accountability on anyone in the food business with supervisory responsibility.

What is covered on the course?

The course will include a variety of presentations covering the following topics:

  • Legislation
  • Supervisory management
  • Temperature control (chilling, cooking)
  • Cleaning
  • Contamination control
  • Applying and monitoring good hygiene practices
  • Implementing good food safety procedures
  • Contributing to the safety training of others.

At the end of the course all candidates will sit a short multiple choice examination.  Following the course examination papers are sent to the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health for marking.  Successful candidates will receive the nationally recognised Level 3 Supervising Food Safety in Catering qualification.

How long does the course last?

The course lasts three days.  The next dates are 13, 23 & 30 October 2009 in Trafford.
