Emergency First Aid at Work (1 day)

Who should attend?

If a First Aider is not legally required, an employer must still appoint a person to take charge of first aid provision, this course provides the necessary knowledge to do so.

It is also ideal for individuals, lone workers or employees of small organisations.

What are the aims of the course?

This very popular First Aid course provides a good insight into the procedures and basic life support skills needed to help those who may come across an emergency situation.

What is covered on the course?

The course covers:

  • Incident and Casualty Management
  • Causes of Unconsciousness
  • Dealing with an Unconscious person
  • C.P.R. (including babies and children)
  • Choking
  • Wounds and Bleeding
  • Burns
  • Contents of a first aid kit.

By the end of the course the delegate will have covered how to:

  • Give emergency First Aid until the arrival of paramedics
  • Recognise and treat most emergency situations

There is no formal assessment.  On completion of the course each delegate receives a certificate valid for 3 years.

The course lasts six hours (run over one day).
