Who should attend?
If a First Aider is not legally required, an employer may still appoint a person to take charge of first aid provision, this course provides the necessary knowledge to do so.
It is also ideal for individuals and lone workers.
What are the aims of the course?
This is a very popular short First Aid course and provides a good insight into the procedures and basic life support skills needed to help those who may come across an emergency situation.
By the end of the course the delegate will have covered how to:
- Give emergency First Aid until the arrival of paramedics
- Recognise and treat emergency situations.
What is covered on the course?
The course will include the following topics:
- Incident and Casualty Management
- Causes of Unconsciousness
- Dealing with an Unconscious person
- C.P.R. (including babies and children)
- Airway problems. (Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Choking)
- Circulation problems (Angina, Heart Attack, Wounds & bleeding, Shock)
- Burns
Is there any formal assessment involved?
There is no formal assessment.
Delegates receive a certificate of attendance.
How long does the course last?
The course lasts approximately 3 hours.
