First Aid - First Aid At Work
Who should attend?
This course is designed for those employees who must obtain a First Aid At Work (FAAW) certificate to become the designated First Aider in their workplace and also for those persons who want the most comprehensive introduction to First Aid.
What are the aims of the course?
This comprehensive course will equip delegates with the essential knowledge and practical experience to enable them to carry out First Aid in the workplace.
The course complies with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
What is covered on the course?
The course covers:
- Incident and Casualty Management
- Causes of Unconsciousness
- Dealing with an Unconscious person
- C.P.R.
- Airway & Breathing problems
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Shock
- Burns & Scalds
- Bone, joint & muscle injuries
- Poisoning
- Eye injuries.
By the end of the course the delegate will have covered how to act safely, promptly and effectively during emergencies at work to a recognised national standard. The delegates are assessed via a practical exam. If successful they will receive a First Aid At Work certificate, which is valid for 3 years.
